BORUSARA WEEK 2019 Day 3: Crossover AU
BoruSara as Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde from Zootopia.
Zootopia is one of the best animated films for me. Try Everything by Shakira (Movie's OST) is also one of the best motivational song I have ever listened to.

A/N: A really small piece for BoruSara week 2019! I’m really excited, and this is like a small birthday present from me to me:)
Prompt: Day 5 - Little Moments
Genre: Fluff
Rating: K? or T? Idk but kiddies can read.
____________________________________________________________
Boruto is used to even the smallest touch of their skin together. Even if it’s her pinky tracing short paths on his thigh when she’s lost in her thoughts, or the way she brushes her hand on the back of his when they are in public to reassure her presence—as if he could take her out of his mind. He is very fond of the cold of her skin, of the way her soft caresses catch him off guard, and the way their hands fit together as if they were made for each other. He thinks so, though. They were born to be together.
She often sleeps with her head on his stomach and her left hand on his shoulder, while her right hand is always looking for his fingers to lace them together. He loves the way her lips tremble from time to time, her lashes trembling softly, and those deep sighs that send shivers through his body. He watches her sleep for a while before he joins her in slumber, for he doesn’t like to miss sight of her even if he dreams of her.
She likes him to lay on her lap to play with his hair when she’s working, maybe because his hair is soft and she likes to dig her fingers in his blond curls. She can be doing that for hours and never get tired of it, and she says it helps her to concentrate. He wonders, because he can’t keep his thoughts on track when she’s around; she takes so much of his mind and she doesn’t even try. Nevertheless, he enjoys to be there with her since she often hums for him when she notices he’s getting sleepy. He doesn’t notice that she traces the edges of his lips, or caresses his cheeks to feel the small of beard that threatens to come out when he doesn’t feel like shaving. She might not say it out loud, but she loves when he curls up and clings to her like a baby—she doesn’t mind the drool on her clothes either—and the way he whispers her name in his sleep. She also takes pictures of him to send to his mother and for her to keep.
He cooks for her most of the time since she’s not very skilled in the kitchen, however, she tries to surprise him with dinner when he comes home late, and he makes sure to let her know that he appreciates her trying , even if she makes a mess and they end up ordering something. He knows he’s the luckiest man in the world, for he doubts someone else would try so hard for him. He has so many flaws, but she accepts every single one of them and she doesn’t make him feel like he has to change for her. Sometimes, he thinks he’s dreaming and that she’s not real. How can someone as perfect as her could be with him? However, when he snaps out of it, he does his best to be just as perfect for her. He’s not aware that she’s the happiest just knowing that he’s alive, and she doesn’t ask for more. She never does.
Sarada cuts his hair when his bangs start to bother his sight. At first, she refused to do it in fear of messing it up, but he begged her for days, so one day, she found it really easy and she started to wait eagerly for when he needed a haircut. They both love those days; they put on some music and take a bath together afterwards. She would never admit it, but she often loses her breath at how handsome he looks. She wonders if he knows that she’s not the only head over heels for him.
All those moments are the ones that make them think that they did the right thing marrying each other. Of course, their wedding, their honeymoon and the first moment they stepped into their home as husband and wife won’t ever be able to compare; still, those little domestic moments are something else. Those make them think that what they have is real, and that they can be themselves around one another and they won’t be judged. They grow together, and they wouldn’t have it any other way.
“I love you,” Boruto says when he hugs her tightly against his chest, like he does every night. “More than anything.”
Sarada smiles and nuzzles her head on his chest. “I know,” she whispers. “And I love you more.”
He giggles, because he thinks there’s no way no one would ever love someone as much as he loves her. Little does he know that she thinks exactly the same.

Loud and Clear - Borusara fanfiction
Dropping another tiny oneshot! For day 5 of Borusara week 2019!
Prompt: Little Moments
Genre: Fluff, obviously.
Loud and Clear
She is in a delirious haze, blinking slowly with heavy eyelids. Her body feels warm, but the wet wipe on her forehead is so relief giving.
"Oh, you're awake."
Sarada's tired eyes follow the direction of the voice, coming to rest upon an exhausted looking Boruto. He was seated on her chair, by her bedside. Leaning back to be as comfortable as he could be in that position.
"Is something the matter?" He asks, gently, his eyes roving on her form with concern visible.
She makes an attempt to sit up although her body resists, but Boruto instantly jumps on his feet. His one arm rounds beneath her back and other one grasps her arm to gently pull her up in a sitting position. He grabs all the pillows he can and stuffs them against the head of the bed to make her comfortable. Sarada lets her body go loose, sinking into the comfort. Her gaze flick to her best friend who is still looking over her in a way to detect any signs of tiniest discomfort on her face.
"It's late." She tells him, glancing the clock on the bedside desk.
"I know." He says nonchalantly.
"Then why are you still here?" She admonishes him, slightly angry that he was sacrificing his sleep for her.
"Cause you're sick?" He raises an eyebrow, as if replying an answer that was way too obvious to have been needed to be said.
"But that doesn't mean that you have to stay up all night worrying about me, silly! I've seen worse days." She yells, even though it comes out as a weak protest because her body refuses to co-operate. "Go home Boruto." She continues, weariness seeping into her voice.
"Nuh-uh." He shakes his head and the stubbornness shining in his clear blue eyes convince her that any further argument will be a wastage of time and energy from her side. All the while she had known him, which basically meant their entire lives - when he made up his mind for something, he did it anyway.
"Oh, I remember, your Mom left some meds!" He exclaims, scrambling up and leaving the room to rush downstairs. The quiet stillness of her house seemed to echo his racing footsteps, in a hurry to return back to her and Sarada felt a calming sense of reassurance that she was not alone.
It was weird. They had returned back from a mission that stretched for a fortnight only for her to fall sick thanks to some new virus she might have gotten during their journey. The only thing the virus seemed to cause was fever and congestion of nasal passage. It even made her voice sound different.
Her father had been away on another new job for a month and her mother had a night shift for a week so she wasn't expecting any company tonight. Boruto had visited in the evening and she never knew when she had fallen asleep, not even having the sense to send him off. Apparently, he never left.
The pounding of the feet comes closer and he bursts into her room again with some pills and a glass of water. She dutifully ingests them and he eases her back on to the mattress again.
"If you are not leaving then there's a futon in the there, use it." She commands, though weakly.
"I'm not sleepy." Boruto says, his lips curling up into a smirk. He grins at her pout as she pulls the blankets up to her chin obviously offended. It comes as a surprise when his hand reaches up to stroke her hair tenderly.
"Come on Sarada? Are you really that bothered by my presence here? Hmm?"
She doesn't answer, hiding her face by glancing to a side and the feverish blush on her face becomes slightly more prominent.
To be honest, it felt lonely to stay in bed, be weak and vulnerable, with no one by your side. And as reluctant as she was, even she had to admit that having him here, sitting beside and keeping a watch over her was oddly comforting. And Overwhelming in it's simplicity and feel of affection.
It were little moments like these Sarada cherishes. Moments of caring and self sacrificing. Moments of astounding synchronisation. Moments of quiet togetherness.
Moments when she doesn't say anything but he still always hears.
Loud and Clear.
...
Whoops??? This thing came out of nowhere! But I still liked it enough to post! Did you all liked it?? Let me know!

BoruSara Week 2019: Day 1→Years
5 years old.
Sarada still remembers the first time she met Boruto. He hid behind Aunt Hinata’s leg, his small hand clutching the fiber of her trousers, as her mama encouraged her to get along with the blonde boy.
“Hi, I’m Sarada!”
Blue eyes peeked at her and eyed her outstretched hand curiously, but he made no move to return the gesture. Instead his head disappeared behind Hinata’s leg and the only acknowledgement Sarada received was a soft, “Hi...”.
She pouted at his lack of enthusiasm. Her hand dropped back to her side, dejected. Did he not want to be her friend?
“I’m sorry, Sarada-chan. Boruto is a bit shy when he meets new people.”
Sarada nodded slowly at Hinata’s apologetic explanation, but her eyes never left the spot where Boruto hid himself. As fast as her short legs could carry her, Sarada marched around Hinata until she was face to face with the blonde boy wearing a bright pink shirt.
She stretched her hand towards him and flashed her biggest smile. “Boruto, right? Let’s play!”
For a few seconds, he only stared at her with his mouth pressed into a thin line. His eyebrows furrowed in confusion. His eyes searched hers and saw no underlying motive in her open face. They stood in silence as he gradually came to a decision. Sarada’s smile didn’t cease as she waited for an answer. Their mothers held their breaths when he slowly reached for her hand and clutched it tightly in his.
“Okay!” Sarada’s eyes lit up when Boruto finally returned her smile with one of his own.
She’ll never forget how his smile was as bright as a sun’s that day.
12 years old.
Every once in a while, Sarada would remember their first meeting and scoff. It’s hard to believe how a person can change so much in a few years. Boruto was no longer the shy and quiet boy she once knew. Nowadays he was loud, obnoxious and always in the middle of trouble. Not a day goes by without the two of them bickering about one thing or another.
She thought they would never again get along as well as when they were children.
She saw him as her rival in her path to becoming Hokage. Boruto was the grandson of the 4th and son of the 7th Hokage after all. It wouldn’t be unusual if he wanted to follow the same path.
Yet he told her, “When you become Hokage, I’ll be your right-hand man. I’ll guard you well!” Boruto said this with such confidence, Sarada felt her face turn red.
Boruto had changed.
She could tell from how he stared straight ahead, eyes unclouded. He finally had a goal he was willing to work towards.
A rush of amazement coursed through her veins as she gazed at the boy in front of her.
For the first time, Sarada noticed how much bluer his eyes were underneath the sunlight.
16 years old.
“Boruto!”
Sarada’s feet slapped against the concrete as she chased after his retreating back. She stretched her arm in a desperate attempt to reach for him, even if it was only a few inches closer.
She wasn’t going to stand by and watch him leave.
“Stop!” She managed to wrap her fingers around a chunk of his cloak and pulled him to an abrupt halt.
“Let go, Sarada,” he said in a low voice. He made no move to face her. Although they were only centimeters apart, she felt like she could never truly reach him.
“Why? Why are you leaving the village? Leaving me?” She screamed at him, hoping the volume of her voice would somehow drown the pain in her chest.
“Didn’t you say you’re gonna be my right-hand man when I become Hokage? You liar!” She repeatedly pounded his back as tears escaped her eyes. And yet, Boruto still would not look at her.
He stood, motionless, and took the blows without a single word. Her punches eventually turned into meek slaps until all she could do was clutch his cloak tightly, sobbing.
“Do you trust me?”
Afraid her voice would crack, Sarada could only manage a faint, “Mm.”
“Then have faith in me and in my promise. I’ll come back for you.”
The strength and conviction in his voice urged Sarada to straighten up and wipe her eyes.
“I’ll be waiting for you, so don’t you dare break your promise.” She gave him another powerful slap to the back, this time urging him forward.
Boruto chuckled in relief. He knew he would be feeling that punch for a while.
“Then, I’ll be going.”
Sarada nodded as he walked away. After taking a few steps, he surprised her by turning around and flashing her a big smile.
“See ya later, Sarada!”
The next time she blinked, he was gone.
23 years old.
Instead of preparing for her inauguration, Sarada found herself pacing back and forth at the top of Hokage Rock. She was convinced the anxious feeling in her chest had little to do with the actual ceremony and more on who’s going to be there.
Or rather, she thought with a sinking heart, on who’s not going to be there.
She should be ecstatic—she was so close to achieving her life-long goal of being Hokage—and yet she had never felt emptier.
She hadn’t heard from Boruto in years, not since he left the village.
Not even a single letter, she huffed in annoyance, he could be dead for all she knew!
In her heart, she knew it wasn’t true. Boruto never breaks his promises, even if it took him years to do so. But couldn’t he spare a few minutes to write her a note or something? Sarada felt like she was going to go crazy from the lack of news.
She put her hands around her mouth and yelled, “Boruto, you idiot!!!”
“Wow. Is this the thanks I get for returning?”
Sarada whirled around, half-convinced she imagined the voice, and gasped. Without another moment’s hesitation, she broke into a run and threw herself into Boruto’s waiting arms.
“Missed me?” He breathed into her neck.
“Idiot, what kind of question is that?” She pulled away to look into the pair of clear blue eyes she had longed to see.
“Of course I did.”
Boruto looked past her head and at the view of their entire village from the top. “This place hasn’t changed a bit,” he said, the corners of his mouth turned up into a smile.
“Do you remember the promise I made here?”
Sarada didn’t reply as a wave of nostalgia washed over her. Her memory of that particular day was still vivid in her mind.
“When you become Hokage, I’ll be your right-hand man,” Boruto repeated with a small glint in his eyes. “A lot has happened over the years, but I’m finally back to fulfill that promise.”
With both of them facing the village, Boruto intertwined her hand in his and squeezed tightly.
They may have been separated for a long time, but Boruto and Sarada were ready to face the future.
Together.

Worth It - BoruSara
Rating: T
Genre & Warning: Angst
Written for Day 1 of BoruSara Week 2019: Treasures & Years
—
They sat next to each other on the couch, bodies slightly facing each other. The air was heavy, despite soft pop music playing in the background.
Boruto’s breathing was uneven, and his heart felt so heavy in his chest. He looked at her, blue eyes filled with sadness and regret. “I’m really sorry...”
She put on a brave face and smiled at him. “Don’t be sorry, it was a good run, wasn’t it?”
He tried to smile as well. “Yeah... I don’t—I don’t think we can say we wasted our time together, right?”
Sarada shook her head. “Definitely not. We said we would give it a shot, and we did, right?”
“Y-yeah.” He looked away and scratched the back of his neck. She was taking this so well. How could she take it so well? “I really tried,” he said softly. He wasn’t so sure if he was saying it to convince himself or her.
“You know, I realized something.” Sarada perked up a bit, trying to cheer him up. When he looked at her questioningly, she continued. “We have known each other for twenty-two years since we were born. But do you know how long we’ve only been dating for? Four months.”
He blinked. “What? That’s—that’s so short.”
She hummed. “It is, isn’t it? Some people told me it was just right. But I thought it wasn’t. To be honest, I got kind of scared.”
Boruto chuckled and Sarada grinned at him. “Yeah,” he agreed. “I think us being friends for that long was a big factor with us clicking, huh?”
“Oh definitely.” Sarada nodded confidently. “But the friendship isn’t what’s going to really determine us going further.”
His eyes were downcast yet again and his smile slowly faded, the whiskers on his cheeks drooping down, following the contour of his cheeks.
“Why do you look so sad?” She asked, voice getting smaller with every word. “It’s better to admit you’re not ready and just end it.”
“Because I am sad,” he replied softly. He took her hand in his and leaned his cheek on it, looked into her eyes and whispered, “Out of all the girls I ever broke up with, you’re the least deserving.”
His blue eyes stared straight into her dark ones and she felt his melancholy hit her like a truck. Even if she tried to smile, her face did the exact opposite. Now her heart felt heavy. Feeling his warm cheek on the back of her hand, and as he kissed her hand, she felt like she struck by lighting.
This was happening. It was really happening.
They have known each other for years and gave themselves a shot at being something more. And now that it wasn’t working, they both just had to be adults and make the right decision. She was already decided, it was just a matter of getting Boruto to also decide to end it. But his big blue eyes just made her say, “You don’t have to decide now. You can sleep on it. And please—don’t cry.”
It would tear her apart to seem him cry. She has seen him cry for other things before, and cry for her whenever she was hurt, but not like this. Not for this situation.
“I won’t cry,” he replied. “But maybe later I will.”
She snickered, and he smiled in return. Trust Boruto to ruin the moment. They both ended up laughing for a few seconds before he let go of her hand and opened up his arms for her. She leaned in and gave him a hug. They stayed like that for a few moments.
It was a tender moment, yet the heaviness hung in the air, and Boruto’s eyes pricked with tears but he held it in. It was better to save their friendship and choose the mature decision for both of them. Sarada really didn’t deserve the hurt that would come from prolonging this relationship. But it still hurt like a motherfucker.
“Boruto,” Sarada hugged him tighter and fought the tears that also threatened to spill. “Thank you.”
Boruto’s eyes widened and his arms tightened around her. His heart felt a thousand times heavier but after a while, he also felt the load lift away. She didn’t have to say anything anymore for him to know that even if they only dated for a while—even if they didn’t work out—they would both treasure the small pocket in time where they both basked in each other’s sunlight.
All the dates, cups of coffee, burgers, and kisses were all worth it.
He pulled back a bit and touched her face. There were no tears in her eyes, as there were also none on his. They both smiled at each other and leaned in, lips brushing softly and slowly.
It was different from all their other kisses. There was no passion, no heat. But it was tender, full of understanding and sadness. It might not be their last, but it certainly felt like it was.
When they pulled away, they hugged each other again and stayed there quietly, both thinking back to the happy four months they spent together.
It might not have been ideal, but they both took a shot, and even if it missed, they were still glad they took it. After everything, it was still worth it.

A/N: They say you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take, but even if you miss, taking the chance was still worth it. :)

Diary Entries of a Shadow. [BoruSara, OneShot, BoruSara Week 2019]
Title: Diary Entries of a Shadow. [BoruSara, BoruSara Week 2019, Day 2, Diary, Boruto PoV]
BoruSara Week Day 2 Prompt: Diary.
Word Count: 602.
Rating: T.
@borusarafics
Entry one, day one, year of the moon:
Today I fought together with Sarada against an enemy that used curses. Luckily, I jumped up to protect her in time. I get she's powerful, but it doesn't mean she shouldn't be careful. I'm starting to get seriously worried about her. Recently she spaces out a lot during the battles. Is there some reason for it?
Anyway, that means I just need to be more thorough to protect her. She's my precious friend, after all.
Entry two, day two, year of the moon:
I talked with Sarada today. Learning that she hid from me her concerns, made me upset. How? How can I make her talk about the other things that bother her?
Am I not her shadow and protector? Wasn't it the promise I made with her?
Entry three, day six, year of the moon:
Sarada told me that I don't need to fulfil the promise we made during childhood. I wanted to protest, but I was too much shocked, hearing her say these words.
Why? Why she doesn't understand that with the time my words;
"I will protect you."
Changed their meaning after I realised my feelings for her. I... don't want for my words, promise and time I spend on training to be taken lightly.
Even if she doesn't want protection, I'll still protect her. Not because I promised to do it.
It's because she's important to me.
Entry four, day nine, year of the moon:
Foe we faced yesterday was overwhelming. I took a fatal blow to protect Sarada, and in exchange, my eye got scarred.
As long as she's safe, a scar or two on my body means nothing to me. Hospital nurses scold me a lot though, ya know? They say I shouldn't yet write in my diary with that serious injury.
Jokes on them, I like boasting too much about my accomplishments in the department of protecting Sarada.
I owe her. For all those times she protected me too.
Entry four, day fourteen, year of the moon:
Sarada came to visit me. At first, she acted like her usual self, then she suddenly cried.
I was annoyed by her apology. My scar wasn't her fault. That was the choice I made being aware of the ugly consequences.
There's something I need to confess. I cannot bear the thought of Sarada dying.
Ah, it's too late for me, ya know? I am a fool in love. Writing it down is a lot easier than saying it out loud.
Entry five, day twenty, year of the moon:
I got scolded. Sarada found and read my diary. I was called a big dumbass as well as a drama queen. Well, it's true that maybe I overreacted by misunderstanding what she meant.
She could use better words to explain it to me, ya know? Anyway, I feel relieved and at the same time, scared.
I found an entry with Sarada's handwriting. It said;
"You're important to me too, idiot. I love you."
I don't know if I should feel happy she reciprocate my feelings, or angry she wrote in my diary.
Honestly, no matter what, I do think she's an amazing woman.
The woman I love. Of course, first I need to go out of the hospital. Hey, I hope she really wasn't joking and loves me for real.
I can handle any scar on my body if she's honest about her feelings.
The only thing I need is her being by my side. That's the only thing I can ask for.
Because I am a fool. A fool in love.

BoruSara week 2019. Day 1- Years/Treasures.
Sarada was thirteen when Sakura noticed something hanging on her daughter's neck.
It was after Boruto's departure with her beloved husband when she noticed that sometimes her baby was looking at the window with a somehow sorrow expression, holding something in her hand. But that wasn't always the case.
Sometimes she stood up next to the window as if she was waiting for something, then a small bird would appear out of nowhere dropping something and leave in the blink of a eye. After that, Sarada's mood was ten times better and looked more... relieved, Sakura would say. She never asked what was the deal with that bird that visited her once a week because it seemed like a secret Sarada wanted to keep.
Sarada was fourteen the first time she saw Sarada cry.
The first round of chunin exams happened to be that day, but Sarada refused to go if she didn't find the thing she was looking for. She looked desperate, hurt, her mother tried to help but the Uchiha stubborn like her father, didn't want to reveal.
"I can't go if i don't find it, mama, i need it for the exams." Sarada couldn’t take it anymore and tears started to flow down her cheeks, she was throwing things out of one of her closets trying to find her precious object, but without any results so far.
"Sarada, tell me what it is, i could help you, please. Is it Sasuke-kun's kunai?" She never saw her daughter this desperate before, her heart hurt with every tear her baby shred.
"Found it."
She had to go to the deepest part of her closet to find a tiny little box that Sakura swore she has never seen before but when she got closer to see the reason of her daughter's stress, Sarada turned around and put it on her pouch.
"So, you have everything? Was it your father's kunai then?"
The pink haired woman tried to do one last effort and solve the mystery around her daughter, but the latter only smiled and denied with her head.
"Papa's kunai is not with me, but it's not lost either, don't worry" She already looked much brighter and happier than five minutes ago.
"Seems like the thing she found is like her anchor" Sakura thought.
Sarada was sixteen the first time she saw her eyes sparkle like her own did every time Sasuke-kun came home.
But this time Sasuke didn't came home alone, he and Boruto were just returning from their training trip.
He was no longer a child but a teenager, taller than the last time and with a face that could tell the hard times he must have been through on those years. But his semblance immediately changed the moment his eyes located Sarada.
Sakura noticed that Sarada was hiding her excitement, but the way her eyes were shining with extreme happiness after longing for so long this moment told another story.
Boruto stood up right in front of Sarada looking at her with the same blue eyes that said goodbye years ago and pulled out something from his pouch.
"I'm home." Boruto whispered as he put Sasuke's (Sarada's kunai) on her hands.
End.
Ahhh, i’m so happy for the beginning of the BoruSara week, i apologize for the grammatic mistakes, i didn’t get a beta for this event. :(
Anyways, feel free to send me more prompts, leave your reviews, or go visit my twitter where i’m more active lately hehe.
To the person who sent me a prompt a while ago about Mitsuki, do not panic, i already wrote a fic for it but it’s on day 6. <3
@borusarafics
Thank you all.

Boruto was livid.
As he watched Sarada pulling a boy upstairs, he had to convince himself not to lose his mind. The alcohol was already running in his blood, fast and effectively. The blond boy wanted to follow them and punch the guy’s face until he could stay unrecognizable. He knew this was pathetic and violence should never be the answer to anyone’s problems, but the scene made him see red.
He just hated feelings.
Talking about them, trying to understand them, feeling them. He would rather ignore it anytime, pretend they don’t exist, overlook them. Especially when it was about Sarada. Both of them grew up together because of their parents' friendship, but they were never really close. To the point, sometimes, they would walk past each other in a party and just pretend they didn’t know each other.
When they were younger, they heard a lot of people talking about how they would marry in the future or how they were meant to be together. Those kinds of comments just collaborated to tear them apart. They would avoid at any cost to see each other in public, even making small talk, so they wouldn’t fuel the rumors.
It worked just fine until the parties started. As they were never seen together, the dating and ‘meant to be together’ whispers were replaced by how they couldn’t stand to be at the same place as each other. For some reason, those type got into Boruto’s skin way worse than the dating ones, though Sarada never seemed to care.
So, at Chocho’s birthday party, after a long ‘Never Have I Ever” game, Boruto decided to poke a reaction out of her. He teased her endlessly and he got nothing. Not even a glare at his direction during the whole time. Her reaction came later when they were leaving. As they lived close to each other, Boruto would always take her home. Both fathers, his and hers, asked him to do so, and he didn’t argue. Surprisingly, neither did she.
But the real surprise was how she burst out in his face after they were far away from anyone’s sights. They had drunk terribly the whole night, and Boruto didn’t feel like arguing. All he wanted was to shut Sarada’s mouth, so he did the fastest thing he thought to shut her mouth.
He kissed her.
It wasn’t something deep. The whole action didn’t take much time, actually. He wanted to give her a little scare just to make her speechless after it. Maybe a bit embarrassed to the point she wouldn’t say anything until he dropped her at his house, except it backfired in ways Boruto couldn’t even predict.
Instead of pushing him away, as he hoped she would do, the girl wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him closer. Boruto didn’t believe she was actually kissing him back. As soon as the shock left him, he hugged her middle and pushed her against a gate near them.
The whole thing lasted for about forty minutes. No words left their mouths, extremely occupied with each other. Boruto’s hand wandered her body, touching every inch of skin he could find. Against his own skin, hers felt like fire. He didn’t know if he had touched her before, but he would surely remember if it had felt like this.
Sarada pushed him away, but his hands kept their place in her waist, where her shirt was revealing some skin. Both were panting, and the Uzumaki boy wondered if his heart could explode inside his chest. Her lips were swollen and his heart skipped a beat when he noticed how beautiful she was. Not that he hadn’t noticed it before, he just didn’t think about it so much. Why would he?
She fixed her crooked glasses and passed her fingers through her messy hair. Boruto knew he had a similar appearance, but he was too afraid to move.
The brunette just pushed him aside and started to walk away, without saying a word. He took a few deep breathes before following her, keeping a safe distance between them. Once they arrived at her house, she looked at him quickly and nodded, leaving him alone in the cold.
Boruto didn’t know what all that meant. In fact, he didn’t want to know. What if it made things more complicated?
Yep, he didn’t want to know.
He would ignore her, and pretend it didn’t happen. Nothing had to change.
Except Boruto didn’t realize how badly he wanted things to change until nothing changed. She treated him the same as always during the past weeks. Whoever looked at them wouldn’t imagine the hot make-out session at the street they had days before.
So, he decided to let this go, though his mind didn’t want to. They didn’t speak again until the next party.
Boruto went to the bathroom. As he was using antibiotics, he was probably the only person in the party not drinking. Deciding to leave, he opened the door, already making the path towards the door in his head.
Sarada was there. His first thought was she wanted to use the bathroom as well. He slid aside, so she could enter and he could leave. But as doing so, the girl entered and pulled him together. She closed the door with her feet, and her lips found their way to his.
It took him fifteen seconds to push her away. He didn’t want to, but the alcohol taste in her mouth was unmistakable.
“Sarada..” Boruto whispered, grabbing both of her shoulders to keep her in place. “I won’t kiss you. You’re drunk.”
Sarada pouted dramatically. “But I want your mouth.”
The blond had to look away. He would never hook up with a drunk girl. Let alone a very drunk Sarada.
“You’re not thinking straight.”
Sarada used her weight to make Boruto take a step back, touching his back in the wall. He bit his lower lip once he realized she cornered him.
“Sarada…” Boruto sighed.
“Don’t you want me?” She pressed her body against his. “Oh, you do.”
Boruto couldn’t even find the strength to be flushed. He simply pushed her away and left, confused. She didn’t exchange even a glance with him for two weeks since they hooked up. Now she wanted to do it again?
Again in the next day, they acted as nothing happened, but deep down, a lot had changed for him. The actual change came at the next party. It was his time to take the first step and he did it. When Sarada was alone at a balcony, Boruto appeared from behind and placed a long kiss in her neck.
Sarada didn’t even startle. She just turned and closed the distance between them, pulling him closer to a kiss. They didn’t even care about the fact someone might see them.
The next thing Boruto knew, he woke up in Sarada’s bed.
He remembered the night before, every single detail. The taste of her lips, how confident she was with her own body, and her body… Boruto would never see something as beautiful. He was sure of it.
Her mother had a night shift at the hospital she worked and her father was on a business trip. So, since then, they started a whole new dynamic in secret. Publically, they wouldn’t even look at each other. When they were alone…
His friends noticed something was off about him, but no one could tell what it was. Sometimes, the Uzumaki thought himself couldn’t figure this out. But Boruto couldn’t tell them, he liked too much what he had with Sarada to risk it to go to waste.
The only person who knew it was his sister. Boruto and Sarada were already without clothes when his sister appeared in his room, asking if he had seen their mom. The poor girl stood there, mouth agape and eyes almost exploding from her orbits. It took Boruto a lot of convincing so she wouldn’t tell anyone, especially their parents.
“I wish I could wash my eyes.” She said finally. After a half-naked Boruto and a Sarada wearing his shirt, which she could easily use as a dress, explained all the reasons they kept it a secret. She left, and never again entered his room without knocking.
That was how it worked for three months. His behavior got weirder and weirded to his friends, especially when he started to turn out girls. Shikadai would love to tease him about finding out who his mysterious girlfriend was because he was clearly in love. Boruto had to lie a thousand times he wasn’t in love, he was just bored.
“Whatever dude, just chill.” Shikadai shrugged and took a deep sip of his drink. His friend frowned when the smell of cigars reached his nose. There was no one in the planet who hated cigarettes more than Shikadai Nara.
Plus, Boruto couldn’t chill.
Not when Sarada was with another man. It wasn’t even jealousy. It was pure sadness and anger. He wanted her more than anything and she knew it. Boruto still blamed himself for the night that he let his feelings slip over the phone. Drunk calls never end up being a good decision and after throwing up his heart out for her, he still remembered the silence that came right after, then the beep showing she hung up.
Now, being sober, Boruto didn’t actually blame her. If it was the other way around, he wouldn’t know how to react either. At that time, he told himself he would never see her again. Just so he could be standing at her door at 8 am the next morning.
They talked, for hours. It was easy with her. Everything seemed to be until it wasn’t. Boruto would never forget how sad the smile she gave him was when she said they couldn’t be more than friends. For him, even the word friend was strange enough, and he knew she felt the same. During his whole life, they avoided each other like the plague and now? It felt like the plague invaded his being.
“Nothing, I repeat, nothing compares to what we have.” Boruto felt hopeless.
“Maybe not.” She sighed. “Im not saying it’s not the best, just… Not the right one.”
That was the last words she said before leaving. She left and took his heart with her.
“Earth to Boruto.” Inojin flicked his finger on Boruto’s cheek hard, taking the mind out of his sad memories. “What are you staring at?”
Sarada wasn’t at the stairs anymore. At some point of reviving everything that happened to him, she left again, but with someone else this time.
“Nothing.” Boruto took a sip of his glass. The beer wasn’t cold anymore.
Seemed usual by now. Cold heart turning into a melted one. The cold side of his bed, who used to be warm because of her. Even his gaze, which he looked at her as he didn’t know her and now, it seemed like she was everything he could see.
It wasn’t meant to be, as people used to say. He loved her. She didn’t love him back.
Life. It happens.
Some love stories are just not meant to be.

BORUSARA WEEK 2019 Day 1: Treasures
Boruto and Sarada's priceless treasures are their beloved kids, Tosuke, Itaji, Nechi and Sana.
1.) Sarutosuke (aka Tosuke) - Oldest son. Genius. Very dependable big brother. Has perfect vision but decided to wear glasses because he thinks it's cool since his mom is wearing one.
P.S. If you've been following me from DA and Tumblr, you probably know him. If not, you can check these comics I made about him:
https://jacqthehermit.tumblr.com/post/172739010901/borusara-parenting-this-is-for-the-anon-who-sent
https://jacqthehermit.tumblr.com/post/174568098501/borusara-playtime-with-aunt-hima-first-of-all-to
2.) Itaji and Nechi (twins) - Competitive with each other. Loves to prank their dad. Scared from their mom. Yup, I scrambled their uncles' names. I didn't want to use their names as they are so I decided to jumble them for the originality lol. They sounded cool to me (at least)
3.) Sanahime (youngest) - Adorable angel. She gets what she wants. Doesn't cry a lot that's why whenever she cries something is really not right. Made this up from - SA kura + kushi NA + HI nata + ME buki. Aren't I clever? Haha.
This is the first time I drew all of them. I created them all alongside Tosuke tho all I drew was Tosuke lol. Anyway they are my original BoruSara kids. If you don't like them, there's no need to complain (happened to me when I first introduced Tosuke) Make your own BS kids then!
